Exercise 2, Chapter2 – "Jobs -l"

      I run either “ping -i 10 localhost &” or “ping -i 10 127.0.0.1 &” then “jobs -l” but there is no output to the jobs command which is confusing me.

      I then try and open the man page and there is no manual entry for jobs. it’s like the command does not exist.

      Would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction?

      ah…. the issue was that i was running “jobs -l” in a different terminal window to the ping. i knew i was missing something simple.
