Exercise 1, Chapter 3 –
1. Use the file command to inspect some devices exported by the kernel in /dev/. Try /dev/sda* and /dev/snd/*.

1. With commands similar to this:
root@kali:~# file /dev/snd/seq
/dev/snd/seq: character special (116/1)
root@kali:~# file /dev/sda1
/dev/sda1: block special (8/1)
So the the sound device is considered of type “character” and the hard disk partition is considered a “block” device…makes sense, right?
